Organisation

How the idea was born

Pavlos Martinis, an 11th-grade student who has been playing the piano since a young age, was moved by his love for music and his involvement in a school social outreach program. Wanting to make a difference, he proposed organizing this concert to support and stand by children and families whose daily lives are shaped by challenges far greater than his own.

How the idea took shape

Pavlos reached out to Panos & Chrysiida – Help for Children, also known as Panos & Cressida 4 Life,  and proposed a collaboration to bring the event to life. Panos & Cressida 4 Life was founded in 2006 (originally as Panos4Life) in memory of Panos Vardakas, who fought bravely against illness. The organization was established by close friends and family members as a civil non-profit organization.
In 2010, it was expanded to also honor the memory of Chrysiida Spachi, a childhood friend and classmate of Panos, who passed away suddenly.

Thus, Panos & Cressida 4 Life joins forces with two other remarkable organizations: the organisation Μazi gia to Paidi (Together for Children), which for nearly 30 years has stood by thousands of children, offering them protection and hope, and the organisation Galillee, which for the past 15 years has embraced with love and care individuals battling serious illnesses—while also providing strength and support to their families.

The action of the Panos & Cressida 4 Life organization , which after 2011 is mainly focused on Greece. In summary, in its almost 20 years of operation, the Panos&Cressida4Life organization has funded, among others:

The proceeds of the charitable, non-profit organization Panos & Cressida 4 Life, which come from memberships, donations, and events, are dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and youth. Among the organization’s goals is to assist families with children suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as children facing severe issues such as addiction, violence, or abandonment, those living in remote areas of Greece, or those affected by limited access to education and sports. The organization also offers scholarships to support children in their pursuit of education, skill development, social inclusion, and the growth of their talents. Additionally, it provides financial support to gifted young people aiming to pursue postgraduate studies in Greece or abroad.

Since 2011, Panos & Cressida 4 Life has primarily focused its efforts within Greece. Over nearly 20 years of activity, the organization has funded, among other initiatives:

How the idea expanded

In order for the proceeds of the concert to truly support children and families facing difficult circumstances—and to offer genuine relief and hope—Pavlos’s initial idea grew. With heart and vision, other organizations with a strong record of social impact joined the effort, helping to identify the families most in need of support.

  • the construction of a three-classroom kindergarten for 150 children in Malindi, Kenya, and a teacher housing facility in a remote mountainous area of Nepal,

  • the construction of basketball and volleyball courts in Karpathos, Nisyros, Tzoumerka, Kimolos, and at the Juvenile Detention Center in Thebes,

  • the purchase of specialized medical equipment for the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the AHEPA University Hospital in Thessaloniki,

  • the construction of a multipurpose hall at the "Pinelopeio" Foundation, a nursery that hosts 130 children from low-income families,

  • the purchase of a specially equipped van to facilitate the transportation of the “Mobile School” to various areas in Eastern Macedonia,

  • the construction of playgrounds in a fire-affected village in Ilia, on the island of Tilos, and in the remote village of Argyri in Argithea,

  • the creation of a “music corner” through the purchase of musical instruments and the provision of music teachers for children hosted by The Home Project and ARSIS,

  • the installation of two incubators in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the University General Hospital of Heraklion, Crete (PAGNI), as well as a neonatal CPAP (nasal ventilator) in Ioannina.
